Connecting the world: Saving Mother Earth
In cooperation with the Rotary Club of Sta. Rosa CENTRO, Kansai Paint Philippines, Inc. or KPPI donated some paint and painting materials to Caingin Elementary School when they held a Mural Painting Contest among their students. Kansai Par Supermatt, one of KPPI’s top quality products, as well as some colorants and paint brushes, was provided by KPPI for chosen students to do their artworks.
On September 27, 2019, Kansai Paint Philippines, Inc., represented by Akiyoshi Watanabe, president of KPPI, took part on the “English Literacy Monthly Celebration and Mural Painting Competition” of Caingin Elementary School in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Joining Mr. Watanabe were Ms. Jeraldine Castillo, HRGA Assistant Manager, Mr. Jeffrey Sardalla, Marketing Supervisor, and Ms. Danica Prellejera, Marketing Associate. KPPI representatives witnessed the incredible talents of the students who participated on the Speech Contest, Mural Painting and the Best in United Nations Costume contest.
In his speech, Mr. Watanabe said that “we are very happy to provide Kansai decorative paints for the mural painting contest, thus giving the children the opportunity to express their creativity and talent by painting art works on the theme “Connecting the World”. We believe this project will also serve as an inspiration to the people of Caingin community as well as others who will see this mural.
Talented kids from their respective classes bagged the titles on the following categories:
- Princess Althea N. Ella, Kinder (Nursery Rhymes)
- Amethyst Andie Refe, Grade 1 (Poem Recitation)
- Janine F. Marco, Grade 2 (Declamation)
- Kayen Xyril Lejarzo, Grade 3 (Book Reading)
- Kian Janel Gomez, Grade 5 (Singing)

Mr. Watanabe also signed the Memorandum of Understanding between KPPI and Caingin Elementary School (CES) under the Adopt-a-School program of the Department of Education, wherein KPPI and CES will work together towards the improvement and beautification of the school.
After the program, CES Principal Mrs. Mercedita Laserna and School Adviser Mr. Steve Duclayan toured the KPPI Team around the campus to see the facilities of the elementary school.
